The first ON The Beam was published October 1962 – this was before the foundation of the fellowship!
Editors notes from the issue No 1 – This is the first copy of “On The Beam”…the monthly magazine especially for anyone with any interest in Sunbeam motorcycles. This is only a small beginning…but with enthusiasm…and YOUR help…it will grow into an interesting and useful monthly for Sunbeam owners, full of news and technical help.
Messrs. Stewart Engineering, with the help of their “customers club” are supporting us with hints and tips, as well as providing the technical ‘gen’ necessary, and answering all maintenance queries. They are also helping us financially by having a large advert each month.
As this is run on a voluntary basis by the members of the Sunbeam Owners Club in order to bring Sunbeam owners all over the world into contact with each other, whether a club member or NOT, all that is asked in return is 4/- to cover the postage on ONE YEAR’S copies…..and all the support you can give.
To help us to know how many copies are required next month…please send your 4/- off as soon as possible if you would like this magazine…and tell your friends! …..the more subscribers….the bigger the magazine….the bigger the magazine….the wider the circulation….the wider the circulation…the more subscribers………!
Send in your letters, queries, experiences etc. Anything to sell? Our advertising columns are being read by Sunbeam owners…a direct and ready market for your spares or accessories.
That is the end of Editors Notes for this month…with one last reminder……
TELL ALL THE SUNBEAM OWNERS THAT YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS MAGAZINE.
